KarenH, that would mean that each of the affected individual governments would have had to have the needed meds and water stored in the nearby towns.... There is NO human way any quantities of water, meds, food, and human help could have been on the way quicker than 24-48 hours, plus the time needed to land and land transport needed to get to the places that need the help the most.

The land portion of the trips has to be the hardest to accomplish.

It certainly should make most of us realize how little we are all prepared for a major disaster in our own areas.
