The vocal people who are out of power are always complaining. They remind me an unpleasant person I have to deal with at a customer's site. He is jealous that he no longer controls things. Everything that goes wrong is our fault. When he deliberately sabotaged equipment to undermine us, the disaster he wrought was our fault. When we are prompt, it is because we are accepting blame, and delay is proof that we do not care.

Cirrus, perhaps you can explain to me why Americans are expected to bear every burden and never receive the slightest gratitude in return?

Have you ever been to Normandy? Spoken to the residents? The American cemeteries there are hallowed ground to the French people. They understand the sacrifices Americans made on their behalf and are indeed grateful.

Of course, the neocons here have somehow concluded that France's refusal to participate in the foolish invasion of Iraq is somehow... anti-American? As the French President said before the invasion... "only your true friends will tell you that you are making a mistake."

The outpouring of worldwide support for America after 9/11 was amazing. If you recall, even Iraq granted use of it's airspace to airmen in the event of emergencies. Time Magazine recently disclosed that Saddam considered sending condolences to the American people after 9/11...

Please explain as well why SOME Liberals enjoy criticizing their duly elected President rather than banding together and moving forward which was the American tradition for a couple centuries?

Because our duly elected president doesn't move. He sat reading "My Pet Goat" while the WTC towers burned. He does whatever at his ranch for 3 days before acknowledging the greatest natural disaster in our lifetime. He seems to forget that the President is not just leader of America, but has the capacity to be a world leader. World leaders don't remain silent when disasters strike.

If Pres Bush flew to the disaster area within 24hrs of the tsunami, today's U.S. Liberals would still find something to complain about. It's simply their nature.....they never learned to be team players for the greater good.

Team players need a team leader. Bush is not a team leader. He's a "my way or the highway guy". He's proven that time after time... last week he re-nominated many of the radical judges that didn't make it through the confirmation process last time and seems determined to break two centuries of Senate protocol to ram them through this time. So much for a team leader.

Our leader remained silent for three days in the face of tens of thousands dead. Wonderful leader.

That exact thing happened after one of the Florida hurricanes.

"If Pres Bush flew to the disaster area within 24hrs of the tsunami, today's U.S. Liberals would still find something to complain about."

He immediately flew to visit the aftermath in Florida, and was criticized for getting there too quickly, as if he were being an opportunist for public image only.

The same thing would have happened if he had immediately pledged an amount of money for the tsunami victims that dwarfed the other nations' contributions... he would have been accused of posturing and overspending for his own benefit.

Goes with the territory.

What some people don't realize is that the size of the initial pledge has no correlation to the number of lives saved anyway, as no matter what you pledge up front, the money can't be spent or used in any useful fashion for some time.

Ann: If Bush had flown immediately to SE Asia to see the destruction for himself, Cirrus and his or her band of right-thinking, big-hearted liberals would have criticized him for wasting the taxpayers' money and diverting the SE Asian officials from their immediate tasks of dealing with the crisis as his (Bush's) way of grandstanding and attempting to exploit the situation for personal and political gain.

Bush is right to ignore the UN, to ignore the media, and to ignore Cirrus.

Come to think of it, I believe that I will put Cirrus on IGNORE too.
