9/15/04 MicroTel International Inc. Has Changed Its Name to EMRISE CORPORATION Business Editors RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EMRI MCTL-- MicroTel International Inc. (OTCBB:MCTL), an international manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic components and subsystems and communication equipment, announced that today it has changed its name to EMRISE CORPORATION and it now trades under the symbol (OTCBB:EMRI). Commenting on the name change, Randolph D. Foote, Chief Financial Officer, stated: "In 2003 MicroTel achieved 63% of its revenue from defense and aerospace electronic components and only 37% from communications products. Our major business strategy to shift to predominately defense and aerospace from communications products has been taking place over the past two and a half years. Primarily due to this shift and for various other business and investment community considerations, we believe our former corporate name which includes 'MicroTel' wrongly connotes exclusively a telecommunications product business focus. While in fact, telecommunications products sold mainly to U.S. public carriers is the smallest part of our communications product sales. Customer premises networking products for data, voice and video form the much greater part of our communications products sales." Carmine T. Oliva, President and CEO, stated: "This name change follows an exhaustive in-house effort of more than one year to find an acceptable alternative to MicroTel.
