KOREA: Disorder in the North Accelerates
Strategy Page

December 30, 2004: In North Korea, the government is trying to suppress growing enthusiasm for South Korean clothing, mannerisms and accents. Special police units are inspecting stores, especially the new free markets, for South Korean clothing (often second hand) brought over from China. VCR tapes and CDs of South Korean television shows and movies are already illegal, but the trade in them continues despite the risks. The South Korean influences began appearing ten years ago, and has now reached far more of the population than the North Koreans ever thought possible.

<<British Minister: UN Only Body With "Moral Authority" For Relief>>

I saw that bullcrap on Drudge. 170 countries blow hot air while 4 countries get together and get the job done. "Moral Authority" my butt. Let them that can, do. The UN had maybe 25% credibility on Iraq, none in this case.
