<Where is God, when you really need him? >

Michael, some say that things that happen are God in action. Personally, I think nature [God if you like] is indifferent and any supernatural spook is not so malevolent.

People have to make their own way in the universe against the forces of nature; entropy, gravity, and so on. People have short-sightedly ignored the danger from tsunamis, just as they ignored the danger from Islamic Jihad and left cockpit doors open for anyone to wander through.

Happier New Year everyone. 12 hours to 2005 here in Auckland.

With China/Russia planning mid-year manoeuvres "on China's territory", which presumably means Taiwan, involving submarines, long-range bombers and so on, we should expect another interesting year.

What will the UN do? What will the USA do? What will the coalition of the willing do? Will there be a New United Nations? Wait for the next exciting episode of "As the World Turns and the Stomach Churns".

Meanwhile, buy yourselves a swanky new cyberphone with 1xEV-DO and stay informed and in touch, and quick with it. With MediaFLO, people will be able to receive instant broadcast warnings of all sorts of things.
