No one is denying that we should be proud about ourselves. This was plain stoopid. Bush could have earned so many browny points by genuinely creating the "coalition of willing donors" right upfront and all other nations would have followed our lead. If I recall correctly - many of the affected nations offered their help in immediate aftermath of 9-11 (in some shape or form). Indonesia was the first Islamic country to stand side by side with Bush (in case of Either You are with us or against us speech). Recently this administration made some spending cuts of which the primary loser was Indonesia. How do you think they might feel now (if at all we cared about others feelings g/ng) Leadership Opportunity Squandered! EDIT: When people in other countries say that they love Americans but not the US Govt and it's policies they mean it. Most of them go out of their way to accomodate Americans when they are visiting their land (prior to the current spate of kidnappings and beheadings)
