If these crude attempts to portray the US invasion of Iraq as a valiant act in concert with the UN were anything but pure hogwash, I would entertain your suggestion more seriously. Not only did the US choose not to act within the institutional context of the UN, the US went on to do its best to destroy the UN in the process. The US invasion of Iraq was blatanly illegal under the UN Charter. Time to let go of this as your "excuse du jour" for the US invasion of Iraq.
