Interesting that the next program will be "ready kids".

Just about every school in America now has or is developing an emergency evacuation plan. Those that I have seen all have at least two possible destinations.

Just about no parents in America know what their kid's school's emergency evacuation plan is.

Good family emergency planning is more than a supply kit. It will also include such information and create a method for family members to rendezvous within the known constraints of the pre-planning done by public orgs such as schools.

Otherwise parents are going to race off to empty schools and not know why their kids are not there or were they went. The best time to learn about your child's school emergency plan is before, not after, an emergency.

Natural and man made catastrophes are not unusual.
The complaints about the waves were focused initially on lack of warning by government officials and now on lack of emergency supplies. Potable water is not an emergency supply. It is an essential for human life everyday. We can each take simple steps to supply ourselves with essentials like water in emergencies while we wait for the authorities to rebuild public supplies.
