I thought everything about In America was wonderful, especially the way they captured moon over New York City at the beginning, and the scenes in the hospital when the parents are so stressed out over the mother's high risk pregnancy. Sheridan captured the way real couples communicate at times like those. I also enjoyed the constant sense of danger--that something bad would happen to the children. That little family had such hope and energy.

There is such a strange movie distribution system in America. I think most Americans must just watch junky American movies or something. Movies like In America only come to one downtown theatre in most cities, and I bet they never even make it to smaller towns. It is no wonder they don't sell many tickets or become very popular--there is such low exposure to them. I have no idea why that is, though.
