Tsunami relief facts:
U.S. gov't - $35 million
Corporations - $73 million and counting
U.S. citizens - unknown

Total U.S. relief = more than $108 million. Then add to that the ships, carriers, helicopters and other non-monetary aid the U.S. is providing and that amount could easily double to $200 million.

It's ridiculous to call Americans stingy. We're the most generous nation on earth.

For the unbiased of you out there, don't jump on to the "hate Americans" bandwagon. We're going through a bad publicity phase right now, because of Bush, but the U.S. and its citizens are still a country and people to look up to and depend on when the going gets tough.

The first donation listings by country Japan, UK, USA and others made the list at $29-35 million each with France pledging a whopping 140,000 $$$...
If a mistake blame CNN for that.

Later all figures from Europe except UK were withdrawn. Most likely to be debated in Brussels for the purpose of coming up with one EU donation only subject to eventual approval.

>I think you are being unfair. Bush is not perfect, but I don't think he's cold hearted. Bush set up an aids fund in the amount of $15 billion.

Nope. I believe that the NYT mentioned a couple of days ago that not one dime of that money has been distributed, nearly three years after Bush made that speech.
