<<After all, if we believe that Iraqi democracy would be a model for the region, then the converse is also true: If we leave behind a failing state in Iraq, then we provide Middle Eastern autocrats with a pretext for cracking down on the reformers and liberals in their midst, since they can point to the chaos in Baghdad as the likely fruit of democracy>>

Suma,

If they do that we'll have no choice but to bomb the countries involved. Right now Iran and Syria are pumping people over the border to create trouble. If we plant the seed of democracy and they mess with it because they fear it....If I were president that'd have a whole other issue to fear. You can question how smart that is but thats how I feel. Iran, Syria and the other nations that surround Iraq should worry less about whats happening in Iraq and more about what will happen to them should they decide to cause trouble. I wouldn't send a single ground troop in but I'd bomb their infrastructure from the air like now tomorrow.

Do you have a link to that liberal propaganda?

The article doesn't get past the 2nd sentence before it
begins to spins lies as fact.

Read President Bush's speeches on Iraq prior to the war. You
will see what he actually said about Iraq. And no, it isn't
about the lies in the manner framed in your propaganda piece.

Then read the Iraq Survey Group report. You will see that
Saddam never gave up on his desire to have state of the art
WMD programs. He bribed all your favorite UN officials &
countries on the UN Security Council to keep the US from
enforcing UN Resolutions so he could continue buying illegal
weapons & materials, etc., to improve his WMD programs.

The Iraq Survey Group report, as well as the 9/11 Commission
& the Senate Intelligence Committee Report all clearly show
that Saddam had numerous ties to terrorist groups, including
Al Qaeda. They also prove that Saddam was behind planned
terror attacks against American interests.

And continue to ignore Saddam's massive crimes against
humanity just like you ignore the bribes he paid to the UN,
France, Russia, China, Germany, etc. We certainly can't have
humanitarian issues or the complete lack of ethics from your
liberal peers get in the way of an alternate version of
reality.

But no! You insist on sticking to liberal propaganda that
states lies as fact with absolutely no evidence to support
their false assertions.

Meanwhile you continue to refuse to read bipartisan reports
that are chock full of facts & credible evidence.

Why? Because it has irrefutable proof that Bush did not lie.
It has irrefutable proof that removing Saddam was legal &
absolutely necessary to our national security.

That's why.
