However, Bush I got a better long-term contract from the Saudis plus Kuwaitis, in the early 1990s.

I wonder how those contracts are doing these days??

PS However, that Yukos contract does not seem to valid anymore??

Nothing as ancient and easy to manipulate as the US constitution, but a very modern, detailed verion, human rights and other smart stuff, now as well as many milleniums ago..

Since no political party and or government can ever be completely trusted, guaranteed human rights are unfortunately always necessary.
