Tis rule of reason: Should be a plausible investment in the real world.

Historically $0.04 per share with the contest entry weighting accounting for nearly 100% of the annual volume was clearly too deep in the pennies. A listed stock above $1.00 seems acceptable.

In between - use your best judgment. Try to pick something that the bid/ask spread will not give an artificial gain.

For the experimental portfolio site there is not an option to allow stocks priced <$1.00.
