Japan is to be commended. Japan has transformed itself from one of the most brutal countries in WWII to one of the most compassionate and peaceful. That is a testament to one of the U.S.'s greatest nation building successes we may ever have. But back then we had great men like McCarthur as leaders. Now we have small men with no vision or diplomatic prowess to tackle nation building. Oh well.
