I see you are dutifully manning your computer to tell me how patriotic you are. Thanks for that. Regarding the USA doing something...... I really wish they would stop. Guantanemo. Abu Graib. Camp Buca. Camp Bondsteel. Charlie Wilson's War. You really want the USA doing stuff? I hope to hell they stop. *** From the propaganda piece that you cite: Message 20906441 If you would only develop some reading skills, you'd begin to comprehend that that puff piece is meant as a feel good measure for naive Americans like you while it does little actual good for the victims of tsunami. Just note one sentence: Most of the 25,000 pounds of aid supplies delivered Saturday were picked up from Australian and other foreign shipments You are meant to be impressed by a big number. 25,000. If the writer were honest, he'd point out that 12 tons of supplies is less than a thimble-full of aid when an Olympic sized swimming pool is required. 12 tons is miniscule and is easily transported much more efficiently on sail powered dhows than on Seahawk helicopters. More on the Seahawk here: chinfo.navy.mil The winners in this mission are Sikorsky and GE. The dhow operators of the Indian Ocean basin, though dramatically more efficient, won't be contracting with the Bush Administration any time soon. And must I point out to you that for some reason the helicopters found it necessary to provide foodstuffs from nations other than the U.S.? Please recall that there are vast stores of U.S. MREs and other foodstuffs in huge warehouses on Diego Garcia. Why hasn't our Warrior President announced that he's fighting a War on Tsunamis by depleting Diego Garcia for the sake of the locals? I don't think we'll see that announcement. In fact, Diego Garcia, the U.S.'s greatest depot in the Indian Ocean region is conspicuously absent from U.S. corporate news since 12/26. Why's that? We got something to hide? news.google.com
