Sure don't know, KarenH.....We haven't had anything quite like this in WA before....At this point, the voters are just along for the ride...

Since you mentioned that there could be no challenge until the certification occurred, I assumed you were aware of some further process that included that step. The reason I asked is that I thought all steps of the process were now concluded.

If there is further prescribed process, I would encourage you and others who are unhappy with the result of the election to pursue it. If there is not, I would encourage you to write off this incident and work to alter the process for the future if you think that the current process needs to be changed. That's the American way. Fairness in this country is defined as due process. We have to put our support of due process above our support for any candidate or issue or philosophy.

It's important to differentiate a bad outcome from a bad process. And, if there's a process failure, to differentiate between a poorly designed process and poor implementation of that process. I don't presume to know which of those was at fault in this case. I suspect it was poor implementation. That's where the effort should be focused.

It seems to me that Washington needs a better way to vote and count the votes. If that were in place, there would be no need to fiddle with the process of recounting and challenging and revoting.

Of course, I instinctively look for a system solution. You seem more inclined to political solutions. Keep in mind, though, that any precedent you set out of immediate political expedience could come back and bite you.
