Americans are good at saving the world; the UN is good at asking for money and going to conferences. We're sure both talents are equally valid; we shouldn't judge one better or worse than the other.

Truer words were never spoken. Why the world doesn't see the absurdity of the UN I will never know. Why we continue to fund those bozo's is beyond me also since I think we are a major portion of their funding.

The UN has demonstrated itself to be about as useful in a crisis as nipples on a boar hog. More interested in getting credit than doing anything to actually earn it.

The never ending series of scandals revealed last year has been very disappointing. Not disillusioning, not to me, because I never had any illusions about the UN as anything other than a forum where all nations can be heard. Not necessarily heeded, but at least heard.

I still think that there is a place in the world for an international forum.
