I think most students know who their attackers are, since the bullying is usually taking place at school too. Bullying is a hard problem to address, especially if it's sneaky group bullying where one student is perhaps ostracized, and then giggled about by other students (and I've seen this mostly with girls)- but there is nothing overt, that can easily be pointed out to a campus supervisor. That's the kind of insidious bullying that drives kids crazy, because they can't see how to deal with it. As adults we need to have structures in place that give them some hope of ending such nasty group activities. I think as adults most of us realize that it's the bullies who have the problem, not the victim- and that makes it infinitely easier to bear (imo) but since young kids internalize everything they inevitably think it's somehow their fault.

While I do not think it's an easy problem to deal with, I think school wide anti bullying programs are worth the time and effort- since they make schools much more hospitable places- and children learn best when they feel safe.

This has nothing at all to do with bullying, but I'm having the most luscious cup of tea- I'm a big fan of Choice Organic Teas- and I very much like the northwest blackberry- but tonight I made it with a slice of Meyer lemon and some demara sugar- and I think it's just the perfect cup of tea. When I feel like mint the only tea I drink is Stash Morrocan Mint- it's absolutely perfect too.
