Most people with a conscience would stop eating meat after that article. "And you are making a distinction between beef and dairy cows the relevance of which I don't quite understand." Dairy cows are bred to produce milk and beef cows are bred to produce meat. A dairy cow was butchered for meat and this is where the first instance of mad cow tested. I.e. you don't ride your buffalo to the fair you take a horse. I.e. you don't wear sunscreen in the shower you wear a plastic cap. I.e. you don't eat dairy cows you drink their milk which means it should never been slaughtered for meat in the first place.
