Why do you hate Bono?

I wasn't arguing that the Irish were stuck up, though. I think they are shy, and until recently as a group they had really low self esteem, from the whole British taking over their country thing and I think also from the Catholic Church telling them they had sinned every couple of minutes. There is a thing within Catholicism--my husband is Irish Catholic, so I'm not just making this up--where the self almost divides into different bits, because your body is so sinful and full of lust and other unacceptable emotions. Not a good scenario for mental health. The whole madonna and whore complex comes from this, where mothers are put up on a pedestal, devoid of sexuality, totally pure. But real women are not like this! It makes it hard for some Irishmen to appreciate women as sexual beings, and causes a division where women's sexuality makes them whores. It is kind of a big mess, really. No one is enjoying their whole undivided being enough--all the parts coming together. I could probably write a more intellectual and sensical post on this subject, and maybe I will sometime, but right now I am tired and my fingers are freezing.
