Bubba, the Chinese have the common "sucker born every minute" manufacturing and marketing philosophy. It's a short-sighted philosophy. Yes, a con can lead to some sales of dodgy cars, shoes, watches, or whatever, but reputation and word of mouth soon leads the better run businesses to success and increased market share, while the rip-off merchants live a perpetual low-class life of penury and bankruptcy on the commercial sidelines.

The underlying Chinese problem is the treatment of other people as suckers to be ripped off, rather than partners in creating a mutually-beneficial symbiotic life. My Dearly Beloved Globalstar greedily tried to rip off subscribers with absurdly high charges for minutes. Bankruptcy put paid to that stupid plan. If they had partnered with subscribers instead, profits would have been billions and subscribers in the millions. Instead, Globalstar battles along with a limping constellation and fewer than 200,000 subscribers.

Chinese, who all think the same according to Yiwu the Mad Racist and you, are stuck in that atavistic immoral mode. But take heart, humans can change. Minds are weightless and understanding can develop. Chinese too can probably progress like the Japanese did. Japanese went from murderous empire-building thuggery to mercantile methods of integration in a single generation. It took a couple of nukes and a lot more besides, but they made the change. Maybe Yiwu the Mad Racist and clones will need a similar rejection of their megalomaniacal methods before they see the light.

The Year of the Rooster manoeuvres "on China's territory" should be very interesting. Who will end up a feather duster? Is this the 21st century of The Fatherland invading Poland etc to regain rightful territory?

Plus ca change,

Mqurice
