Yes, we tend to forget the risks to the President and to the candidates. And the frequent traveling of both appeared risky to me.

We have enough problems with the NYT calling on their own military experts to recommend to our Generals and commanders the kind of military structure best for the future when we dont know what the future holds.

In case an errant bolide comes swinging our way, are we going to wait for the UN to come up with a solution and take action, or would it be better to let George do it?

GWB at least put together a coalition of 50 nations( now about 30) to end Saddams regime when the UN refused to act.

And the US equipment is on the ground in Sumatra delivering aid and supplies while the UN is still planning what to do.

Considering that some islands have shifted position as much as 100 feet, and that the Mississippi river generally follows an old fault line, it is entirely possible that one of our blue States could fall into the Pacific, or at least become somewhat separated from the mainland by a South flowing Sacramento river which would save building an aqueduct to LA.
