Brust is of the view that 4Q04 is too late to plan for the 2008 fielded product if a "traditional standards pace" is used.

Sounds like something Q-nutjobs have been saying for literally years.

He also criticized the standards setters for putting specs on paper, then putting the carriers in the difficult position of finding out if they work only when they are actually implemented and fixes are costly.

Brust really spoke his piece, didn't he?

It is Stephen Brust, Director of Wireless Standards....for Cingular!!!

Looking for Brust's bio, he's not listed as one of the Top 19 at Cingular.

He sounds like BLS or BLS International(as in came from), but SBC runs the show. I would be shocked if he comes from SBC.

Edit: ah, it is Blust, not Brust. Yep, Bell South, which means he doesn't speak for Cingular<g>
