She seems to have a beef with Catholicism and probably thinks stereotyping the Irish as uptight and cold (which is laughable) somehow supports her views on Catholicism. Perhaps she's a "lapsed" Catholic? BTW, my Irish Catholic grandmother didn't seem uptight telling stories about my grandfather coming home from work for a "nooner" (her word) when they were newlyweds and having to climb out the window because his new mother-in-law came calling. She wouldn't have approved - she was German. ;-)
