Ted, may I highly recommend that you add to your close German friends some friends from other European nations. That would help you to get a better picture of how Germany now ranks compared to other European nations.And please note, I don't mean nations like the UK, Benelux or Denmark, who traditionally or since WW II have a problem with Germany. The only ones having a problem understanding that and thus not getting things done and changed seem to be most of the Germans. Incidentally this attitude seems to be unaffected by their political orientation. Spend some time in Italy besides in Germany, get some Italian friends! I hope you feel good about me not giving Berlusconi much credit though. Except maybe for running Italy like a business and cutting through a lot of crap, which seems to work... Taro
