American politics has always been contentious. When i was growing up, FDR was a commie in the CW of republicans. Nixon was the devil in the eyes of dems and Reagan a madman. LBJ was a baby killer and Clinton was a child molester and rapist. And now bush is Hitler according to the more extreme. I guess its the nature of our system. Remember Burr shot Hamilton and Zell Miller wanted to duel Chris Matthews. I guess its part of the charm of the system but it seems more partisan than ever with this president and part of it is his refusal to move to the center in dp or fp. But the hatred of bush is beyond that i have ever seen. mike
