You describe a set-up for civil war. Civil war in turn is a set-up for regional war. If it starts, regional war will burn on for the rest of my life and yours. Starting a war is easy -- ending it is another matter. The issue we face is not one of tactics -- we are on the wrong path entirely.

I think the article in Message 20913661 mostly agrees with your assessment. Except for the "racked by guilt" thing; I've never noticed that as any particular problem among those who believe in W's war. A little constructive guilt-racking might actually aid in the realistic assessment department, but I'm not exactly holding my breath on that one.
