Our intention was to free iraq and help them build a democracy. It was well intentioned from the start and thats where it may have gone wrong. Fight when your national interests are at stake and that may justify the invastion but to stay and further alienate the population in those four provinces doesnt seem to make all that much sense unless the elections change the calculus somehow.
