"Finally, Softbank is looking to round out its portfolio of communications products by entering the mobile phone business. In early December, the company asked the Japanese government for access to the high-speed 800-MHz bandwidth used by third-generation (3G) mobile phone services. Only mobile industry leaders NTT DoCoMo and KDDI now have access to that bandwidth, which can also be used for existing second-generation wireless services.

In a news conference last month, Son said he expects the government to allocate the requested bandwidth sometime in the new year. He said Softbank would invest nearly $3 billion in equipment and other infrastructure to launch the service in about two years."

Hmmmm... Maybe this is where Hassan is getting some of his figures for estimating the wireless opprtunity as large as (or larger) than the 3 billion Wireline will be in '07.

So, to summarize for the shorts and longs, Sonus is behind the world's largest VOBB deployment in Softbank Yahoo. As one can only imagine this is one happy customer, Softbank could potentially become Sonus' largest wireless customer by '07-'08.

Every day on CNBC some fund manager or analyst is saying he's buying growth and tech this year. When the Sonus story becomes recognized, everyone will want to own shares.
It's the biggest no-brainer in the stock market today.
