Engineer, I think you and John Biddle are talking past each other. John did not say that he wants to do away with options, all he said was that options are a cost and should be expensed as such.

perhaps you want to take this to a general options thread to discuss it?

That would probably be best. I'm willing to leave it to you to pick an appropriate place. The one I found:

seems like it might be a little biased in favor of my side of the arguement. If you find an alternative that's satisfactory I'll go there to continue this.
