With all this chatter about statins, does anyone have any idea about the safety profile for the new combined Zocor and Zetia drug? Currently I take both and I'm considering taking the combined pill...so any suggestions would be appreciated.

That study focuses on people who already have CHD. I was pointing out that using statins prophylacticaly just to reduce cholesterol does hardly anything to improve mortality.
As for women Dr Golomb disagrees with you.
...benefit to survival with statins or other cholesterol-lowering agents has never been demonstrated in women (even those at high cardiac risk), in the older elderly, or in men at lower cardiac risk..."
