Sure, when you mention to the average German how well Italy is doing and how far they have come thanks to nothing but their own hard work, in 9 out of 10 cases you get such reactions like "Those Italians down there, in better shape that we...??" and "...no way!". Personally I am not surprised at all. The German model is out of whack while the Italian way seems to have a future. Something for "those French" (my words this time) to take a closer look at BTW. Besides the Germans of course. A major German problem is the lack of a service sector and thus of any kind of services. Germans love the service offered them in those many foreign countries they visit on their long vacations but no way do they want to be part of the servicing side themselves. Taro
