China offers to build Karachi underground railway
Pakistan Times National News Desk

KARACHI: A State run-Chinese company, Shanghai Urban Construction Group (SUCG) has reiterated its offer to build 15-kilometre underground railway sub-way in Karachi within a period of five years.

“We hope that the Chinese government would agree to extend a soft loan for undertaking this gigantic project to meet the growing transport needs of the city’s population,” said Bai Yun, Chief SUCG.

He said in an interview that the project estimated to cost $500 million could be a joint venture between the two countries.
