Thanks for the article eplay. It is human beings acting and they tend to be driven by two things: power and money.

Any situation faced by the human being is approached under these two drivers: How can I get power or how can I profit from it. But human beings are also driven by the law of less effort. How can I aget that power and that money with the least risk and the smallest effort.

Human beings are genuinely altruists but help to the poor is not left in the hands of Mother Teresa of Calcuta. She went there and put her hands in the dirty. People who make a living out of assisting humans are not necessarly altruists. They are professionals and bureaucrats. And they are drven by what I wrote above.

I will give you an example, how I recognize the situation in the article: (Bear with me pleas,e Brazilians write a lot to drive their point across)

I make my living going places to troubleshoot projects. They call me when they are on the floor. They burned the budget. There is work to be done but no money and the risk is for having work to be done at the end of the money but no money left at the end of the project. This upsets people a lot, as you know.

I am good at solving those things because I only have one thing in mind completing the project. Single minded like a dog. No look left. No look right. Just prod on relentlessly. If I make friends it is a bonus, if not, at the end of it, it is not what I went to the place to achieve. Just get the thing done.

I don't think about power. I'm a contractor, But people acting as employees, of MOT, ERICY, SI or NOK do. I don't think about personal issues. People once told me I'm not a human beign.

A lot of people want to be involved: The hep to the victms is very visible: People can achieve power and media attention by participating.

There is a lot of money and there is possiblity to get a cut of it. There is also less effort. hey you don't see people, (unless the really die harders) scrambling to go to help the Hutus or Tutsis back in 1994 in Rwanda.

The situation have many people real capable and they are being by-passed by people who are only seeking money and power or both. As a result, it beocmes like any human being endeavour: politicized.
