More likely Americans will wake up some years down the line and find a world where the US is the former sole superpower, struggling to find a new identity in a world that no longer puts America at the center of the universe. The Brits and the French will be there to counsel us on the psychological adjustment from world imperial power to has-been. Or maybe we could take our place in a cooperative, respectful community of nations. Wouldn't that be a hoot for Bob and Judy, LOL.
