ild,

"I also like that F is down $0.21"

I'll be happy when F is down, say $8?

Seems like people are starting to get the message about F.

god calling for a stock market rally

Robertson's predictions for 2005:

"....
* The economy: "Again, 2005 is going to be a year of extraordinary prosperity for this nation and for CBN [Christian Broadcasting Network]. And I think the American stock market is going to surge upward, if I heard from the Lord. Again, ladies and gentlemen, don't go and buy stock on my recommendation, but that's what I feel in my heart. The Lord was saying it's going to be a super good year."

Factory Orders
Mish:
U.S. factory orders jumped 1.2 per cent in November, the best showing in four months, the U.S. Commerce Department said Tuesday.
[Are we supposed to be impressed by this number? mish]

New orders for manufactured goods have now risen in six of the last seven months, according to Tuesday's figures. Transportation orders rose 8.8 per cent in November, after a 0.1-per-cent increase the month before. Excluding the transportation sector, factory orders were flat in November, following a 1-per-cent increase in November.

[Is this some dumb airline ordering more planes? Do govt ordered planes count and if so did the govt order any? Anyway to get a breakdown on this 8.8% rise? Perhaps some stupid truck company thinks this boom is going to last forever and ordered more trucks - mish]

Heinz:
i think it's the government. read somewhere that they are upgrading the transport fleet for Iraq. are these numbers nominal, or hedonically adjusted? if they're adjusted, it means they were nominally negative. hard to keep track of all this statistical crap the govt. produces.
