An act of contrition by US voters would have helped significantly imho, but they chose to re-elect Bush and that's that for four more wars .... not that the alternative was all that bright and shiney, it just would have signalled admission of a very wrong course

The whole idea of 'Iraq' is quite new and artificial, it was invented by the brits only what, eighty years ago or so .... the turks don't want the kurds independent, well they may have to accept the idea, perhaps they could cut the risk by getting along better with their own captive kurds, and a little cooperation out of the kurds would make this easier too

Geez folks, can't we all just get alooong ... there are times and places where it is appropriate to roll foreign armies over various regimes, but only as enforcement of international law, based as broadly as possible ..... there's the greater failure of the neocons, passing up the chance to build working international institutions, choosing instead to destroy even what was left of the sad old UN

What to do now, hard to say, it won't matter what we think anyway, it's a Bush-US thing strictly, they broke it, they bought it, they'll be entirely responsible for what happens there for generations .... alright, you're asking me for a plan, well try this as Step One - have Bush declare that his style of decision making here was wrong, and that he resolves to do better in the future .... and get it in writing, no weasel words outta Rove either .... good luck -g- .... cheers
