Furthermore, there was a revolution in engineering design that occurred in the late 1970s-early 1980s that completely transformed building design and allowed much lighter framing than had previously been the case. None of these modern skyscrapers have failed. Except for WTC 7 late in the day of Sept. 11, 2001. It ought to be of great concern to all that the collapse of WTC 7, a 47 story building with massive trusses at the lower levels was the only building in the history of high rise construction to have collapsed with the ostensible reason of "fire". wtc7.net Yet, when it came to ascertaining the cause of the collapse, a non-qualified bureaucracy, FEMA, announced that they 'could not determine the cause of the collapse' after months of report-writing. Remember, the normal organizations which are always involved in studying building collapses were not allowed to participate in any meaningful way in the analysis of the WTC tower collapses. Remember, WTC 1 & 2 were designed in the 1960s. WTC 7 was designed and completed in the 1980s. Two completely separate design teams creating two very different sorts of buildings. Yet these three structures have been the only steel high rise structures in the 120 year history of high rise steel frame construction to have collapsed ostensibly due to fire. Curiouser and curiouser. Don't you think?
