You are right.

Marriage is not some static institution but one which has gone through many dynamics and which will undoubtedly go through many more, e.g., the age at which people marry has changed as has the divorce rate, not to mention the number of children which are born.

I see a society not too far into the future in which the traditional family, one which does not include children from previous marriages, is a minority [it might be now, who knows.] Who can predict what the cultural and social results to children will be? I have no clue, except to think that most parents want to do well by their children and will, for the most part, do whatever they think is best under their own particular circumstances. Stigma for belonging to a non-traditional family will be a thing of the past.
