I think it's more like 50/50- Bush only "won" by 2%, of the people who bothered to vote- hardly a real demonstration that the bulk of the country is behind him. I am sure YOU know that Bush does not have a really impressive majority, but your post might confuse other people, who might want to believe (or already believe) that he has one. I think it makes it much more obvious why people are rather vociferous right now about their dissent, when one realizes just how close the election was, and how much of the electorate is really unhappy with the president.

It's funny, because the same people who were so unhappy with Clinton, just don't understand the whole dynamic of constant and repetitive dissent now that their party is in power. Perspective can be a very personal and unique thing, I guess.
