if those sales are adjusted to the USD then they rose a quite nice ly and similar to the US. (Last year the EUR/USD in November was below 1.18)

What many miss in those statistics is the fact that the US had substantial hidden inflation and Germany almost none.

Further many items imported from countries with USD pegged currencies were substantially cheaper in Germany this year than last.... which lowers retail sales

But then again statistics are just statistics and monkeys are trading the headlines to generate volatility.
