With OFDM in 802.11n and CDMA [in 1xEV-DO version rather than the unsatisfacotry W-CDMA] in a cyberphone, people would have the best of both worlds - high speed, low cost, short range combined with decent speed, low cost, long range.

QUALCOMM would integrate the two into efficient, low cost ASICs and software. QUALCOMM would sell ASICs and collect the usual royalties on any multimode devices.

I love it that QUALCOMM is now collecting 5% on GSM devices which incorporate CDMA as a mode [including W-CDMA].
