fleck tonight on gold:

A View from the Gold Coast
Away from stocks, the dollar was strong all day, though most foreign currencies did manage to cut their losses and close off their worst levels. Precious metals were under pressure, led by gold. I'm told by knowledgeable friends that there was a fair amount of "black box" shorting of gold, meaning that the trend-following types are now getting short, something that's been a bit of a rarity since September 11. If gold stays under pressure, we'll probably see more momentum-oriented shorting, and that will create more pressure in the short run, though it will set up an absolutely spectacular buying opportunity.
My guess is that we'll learn more after we see how all the markets respond to tomorrow's employment number. Part of me would like to see gold stop going down right here and now, and part of me says that if it were to drop another $10 or $15, it would be such a mouthwatering opportunity that it's almost worth taking the incremental extra pain. In any case, we'll just have to see how it shapes up.

Lol, Local Dallas TV news station did an expose on this report from the magazine... There results are based on no scientific data. The number of fast food restaurants means zilch.... The report was contracted from some left coast company who could not be contracted and is owned by one of the tabloids....
Downside to this is that FAT ASS people are everywhere...
Now they have a reason to drop whatever lifestyle changes they may have made because of this report......
Sad...
Kind of like the news show I saw on TV about the sugar free cookies and how popular a local companies have become....
All the Chocolate/Sugar-aholics will use this as an excuse to just eat more and get fatter from the extra calories, but they will feel good doing it...

Sorry for the rant, but saw your post and had to laugh....

Okay now everyone put down that "Big Gulp" and quit parking in the handicapped spots in your Escalades!<G>
