Final results of my January Effect 2005 portfolio: Symbol Gain (closing prices 2/4/05 - 12/31/04 ignoring commissions) CAMD -6.49% LIPD +9.84% MTMD -0.49% PARS -37.32% SGU -8.99% total -8.69% model, all positions held 12/31 - 2/4 close total -3.62% actual, PARS sold @ 1.25 Jan 4 RUT -2.17% Well, I fell a point-and-a-half short of the RUT this year. Due to my small number of stocks this year, this is not a statistically-significant result. The main conclusion is that this time around: * there was little tax-loss selling in December * January was a bad month for small caps.
