Re: Jim Mullins' post # 44062, I hope you keep it up. I know popularity isn't your objective, but wanted to assure you that for at least some of us out here, the opinion of a non-cheerleader is welcome relief from the perpetually positive pap of some of our more "enthusiastic" posters. Thanks for helping keep the thread honest.

I see no contradiction in your maintaining a QCOM position without your being a groupie. I still maintain my position, and I like to humor myself that I look at the Q objectively. Not perfect, but on balance damn good.

Isn't GSM1x in business with China Unicom? <Fortuitously the "GSM1x Network Solution" has now long since vanished from QUALCOMM fantasyware, >

Maybe I missed something bad. I can't find recent sales reports, but Unicom's "Worldwind" was doing okay here: ecoustics-cnet.com.com

<>"We have resolved to be a first-class global enterprise--our ultimate goal with our international strategy is to leverage our CDMA technology worldwide," Wang Jiangzhou, China Unicom's chief executive, said in a statement accompanying the phone announcement.

He added that sales of hybrid handsets are outpacing supply. "We're facing a shortage of Worldwind phones. It's been selling so well that we don't have enough stock to meet customers' demands," he said.... continued...

Maybe you meant GSM1x has left fantasyland and is now in 3D.

PS: In regard to negative descriptors of Dr J [or anyone] I prefer to form my own opinions as I find other people highly unreliable [especially if they have an axe to grind].

Edit... carrying on downstream I came across Jeff Vayda coming up with the same expression, albeit with American spelling: <as though you have some particular ax to grind with DrJ, et al. >
