The VERY best advice we got as new parents, was from our 1st pediatrician...I thought our 1st was going to die of a really bad cold...rushed her to the Doc...she was 2 weeks old.

It was stuff from birth. But he said: "Don't worry, she's never had parents before...."

So tell them to remember that, and you're right...instincts are good!

That is the best advice you can give...that and be close to the telephone for emergency "mother calls."

Speaking of which, Robyn called tonight and told me to listen to P..she must have put the phone to his mouth, but I couldn't hear a peep...When she got back on the phone, she asked me how he sounded.
I told her, I couldn't hear him..so she said "listen" and I was once again listening to air..

I told her she knew better than anyone if he sounded wheezy, and to use her best judgement..she said, "he is going like this...wheeze...wheeze..." I said, then you'd better take him back to the doctor.

She said, do you think he sounds that bad?????
