Perhaps you miss the point. First off no one has suggested torture as the term usually thought of by people. Secondly, now that terrorists no longer have to face UNCERTAINTY as to what they MIGHT expect, no one is talking. This means many innocent people will die as a result of our being unable to determine their plans. We had to put up with do-gooders in normal times, but this is a very dangerous war and we no longer can afford to suffer dogooders mistaken ideas of what is right and what is wrong. jdn
