Another is the fact that most of North America was unoccupied wilderness. Native American Indians never occupied more than some 2% of the land mass in America. A third is the fact that the early Pilgrim settlers believed in an inclusive society where Indians and Europeans could be integrated within a Christian culture. The first Pilgrims were not racist in their beliefs. On the other hand, Zionists were always racist and exclusivists. In contrast, the Zionists moved into a land that was 90% occupied by native Palestinians who had lived on and cultivated the land for some 2000 years. From the beginning the Zionist plan (read Zabotinsky and Herzl) was to expel the indigenous Palestinian people to make room for Jews.
