Thomas Edison was an American embarrassment who was brilliant in a way resembling a game of lawn darts.

I belittle our American educational system for failing to give tribute where its due: to a Serbo/Croatian immigrant known as Nikola Tesla.

He designed our AC power system while digging ditches in NY City during the depression.... In His Head.

I can't rehash the effort Edison made to protect his DC monopoly from getting blown out of the US marketplace by Tesla's superior AC system without my blood pressure shooting up.

The only useful portion of Edison's "engineering feat" around today is the 120v part of our household power standard.

Everything else down to the ideal 60hz frequency and multi-phase transmission was conceived by Tesla.
