This train's gonna make a few stops along the way. Might want to get on board. AAPL is about to begin a blue-sky breakout, and this right before what looks to be a very good earnings report.

Check out the trend in the relative strength vs. the $COMPX.

If you are gonna be long something in this market, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a stronger stock---yet a stock that also carries blunted downside risk. That's the sort of risk/reward profile that is ideal IMHO.

That is, if you look at how AAPL has traded over the year, you will see AAPL has tended to trade up with increasingly stronger moves, at the same time that corrections to the downside are more and more attenuated (hence, the trend in relative strength). This last "correction" over the past few weeks amounted basically to a sideways breather till it ran into the rising 20 day moving average (a level AAPL had not seen in over 2 months). Relatively little of this correction was actually down.
